Volunteer are the heart and soul of all the work we do, SVdP Alameda Volunteers donate tens of thousands of hours every year to lend a hand. Over 2,000 individuals — either by themselves or as part of a group — came to SVdP in the past year to serve their neighbors. We invite you to join them!
Mock Interview sessions give our Kitchen of Champion trainees the opportunity to further build their communication, presentation and interviewing skills as they prepare for job interviews upon completing the program. Volunteers will work one-on-one with them by asking them relevant practice interview questions and provide them with vital feedback on what they did right and their areas for improvement.
From saving and editing Microsoft Word documents to composing emails, Computer Literacy Trainers make a real impact in the lives of our trainees by helping them gain the necessary tools to function in today’s digital age.
Provide job placement opportunities for job ready program participants by contacting prospective employers to determine their needs, review online job vacancies and match candidates with job requirements and help coordinate events such as job fairs.
